Be strong & Courageous
Be strong and courageous.
Sometimes, we just need a little encouragement. At least I do. Do you?
-When things seem hard.
-When things seem uncertain.
-When things seem scary.
-When things seem uncomfortable.
Knowing that I was made for a purpose, to love and be loved, to help others, to do hard things, to explore, to learn, to grow. This keeps me going each day. And I need to be strong and I need to be brave as I move through life.
These four words, “be strong and courageous,” pop up in scripture often and have encouraged me through some tough times. Read Joshua 1:9. These words encourage me. These words keep me going strong on the daily. Holding this close to my heart keeps me moving forward and succeeding, knowing that I am capable in being strong and courageous.
I was raised to “march to the beat of my own drum” so being my own person with conviction and not going along with the popular crowd or common culture was my norm — this took strength and courage.
When I changed my eating pattern in 2015 to be plant-based—this took courage. Why? Because it was different. I had to navigate recipes and menus and grocery store aisles and buffets and parties. I had to be brave for my health because I believed so deeply in the science supporting this lifestyle that no matter the circumstance, I was going to be true to myself and honor my health.
Because I want health to live out my purpose on this planet.
Because I’m worth it.
Because I’m capable.
And so are you.
What do you want in life? What do you need to be brave for? What do you need to be strong and courageous for?
Whatever it is, you are capable and worth it.
