Not too long ago, my husband and I spent some time decompressing on a quick getaway. We went to 🤠 TX Hill Country via Austin to stock up on cabin food. HEB's Central Market has a plant-based butcher counter and some amazing fresh produce offerings! Among many things, we picked up some kabobs and a variety of apples I've never had before. Delicious! The processed plant-based meats are healthier than their counterparts and not something we eat regularly--just a great quick-fix choice for a no-prep, no-cook cabin vacay.
Take a look below at aaaaalllll those mushrooms! And fiddlehead ferns! No idea what to do with those, but guaranteed, if I was at home, I would have bought some of those to try.
I admit. I wasn't always this adventurous. I used to not have the confidence to try new-to-me "weird" foods. But now, new things don't scare me anymore (well, maybe the ghost peppers do).
